A multi-stakeholder initiative promoted by The IO Foundation to obtain the proclamation of a Universal Declaration of Digital Rights.
The Universal Declaration of Digital Rights (or UDDR) is an initiative that wishes to make possible a world where Human and Digital Rights are one and the same. A world where both the Analog and the Digital enjoy the same levels of definition and observance.
We envision it comprised of 3 complementary elements:
The Legislative component
This document would describe the Rights we wish to observe in Digital Domains, in legal terms.
The Technical component
This document would be the result of translating such Rights into a language that is meaningful for technical people, namely programmers.
The DR SDK
This component would be the actual implementation of the Technical document, readily available as a sanctioned Software Development Kit so that programmers can easily architect their software to be Digital Rights observant by design.
We are working on bringing live the first draft proposal for a UDDR and a collaboration platform to participate in its development.
Coming soon!
